Currently: Planning of the 2017 expedition
I am currently recruiting for the 2017 expedition. Initially, I am looking for two heroic crafty parties to join me in Panama (Bocas del Toro) to get the boat going for the season in October. The two pioneers will be selected by merit for a change, since the boat needs a bit of work. They will be exempt from the maintenance contribution.
This will be followed by a 6 month tour (see map below). Once we get going, we will need reinforcements of two to four more crew for the tour.
The -tentative- plan is: Bocas – St Andrés – possibly Honduras/Belize/Mx – Cuba (north) – Bermudas – Haiti – ABC islands – Colombia – San Blas.
I may also do a much smaller round to the San Blas islands and Bocas disco if there’s issues with the boat overhaul. Or perhaps we’ll go crazy and evaporate on a transpac “puddle jump” to Tahiti or something. And no, I’m not visiting the US or “passing by to pick you up”. At this stage, I am looking to build a pool of interested parties; places during the season are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
